Our Programs

Drop In Art: Free drop in art classes for adults run by volunteers Fridays at 12:30 pm. 

Collective Kitchens: Collective Kitchens brings people together two Saturdays a month as a group to plan meals and cook in bulk to save money as well as time. To learn about an upcoming Collective Kitchen please call us. 

Community Lunch: Amity House offers a free nutritious homemade lunch every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month, with the goal of building community. Why not join us!

Drop In Cooking Club: Members of the community come together to share a variety of recipes from around the world for free every Tuesday morning from September until June.

Early Childhood Services: We offer workshops, activities and programs for parents of preschool children.

ELL Class: Improve your spoken and written English language skills for free.  We have ELL classes offered on Monday, Tuesday or Thursday. For more information or to register please click on the button below:

Family Support: Family support programs are about helping parents better understand their child's needs and behaviour. That way parents can do all they can to help their child develop and live a happy and healthy life - for information about upcoming family support programs please call us!

Garden Club: We offer a community garden space, where Garden Club members can come together to learn about gardening, meet new people, as well as grow their own fruits and vegetables for free.

Job Search Assistance: We can help prepare resumes, provide information about employment opportunities, fax your resume to employers, and provide referrals for clothing for job interviews.

Outreach: Amity House employs a full time Outreach Worker. Our Outreach Worker can assist people in need and connect people to resources. Please call to book an appointment with our Outreach Worker if you are in need of assistance. 

Support Groups: We run various support groups which change as needs arise. Please call us to find out more.

Swap Shop: We have a ‘Swap Shop’ area where people in need in the community can get donated clothing and small household items for free.

Teaching Tots: Teaching Tots is a preschool program for 19 months-5 year olds. The program is geared towards low income families, with the goal of providing high quality, preschool enrichment program to ensure that all children start school on equal footing. We believe that Parents are a child's first and best teacher, therefore we provide a Family Support Worker to work with the parents of children in the program, providing parenting information and support. To register please come visit us to fill out an application form or call and speak with our Family Support Worker for more information.

WeCan Food Co-op: We are a delivery site for the WeCan Food Co-op -a program that allows participants to stretch their food dollar by joining a larger group, enabling bulk purchases. Please call us to find out monthly payment and pick up dates. 

*We also offer a week day Drop In Centre that is open to the public with the newspaper to read, free coffee, tea and treats!
